Improved GoogleBot Crawling Javascript
Google is no doubt the most widely used search engine to look for information and websites on the World Wide Web. It is also the most popular of the search engines out there today. Google has achieved the top position in the search engine industry and also is pioneer in setting the standards for other search engines to try and follow. It’s not at all easy to achieve the position that Google hold today, but the weapon that lead to the win of Google among all search engines is called GoogleBot.
This weapon of Google is basically a web crawler that crawls millions of site and information out there on internet to inspect them properly so that they can be ranked in the Google search results as per the standards set. Just because of this the user who is typing a query in the Google search bar gets the most relevant information.
Google keeps on updating its web crawler. The earlier versions of GoogleBot were having limited function. The only thing they can do is to read and search the links also analyze the codes in the web. But then Google brought some heat wave in the search engine market with the news that they have upgraded the GoogleBot and that now it can interact with Javascript too. The went to the extent that people began to say the upgraded web crawler can now understand a little bit of Java too. If this is true then the task of crawling the website and indexing them as per the rich and quality content that they offer would become damn easy.
Many webmasters would be aware that Javascript is not that easy thing to understand and for a bot to do this, then it definitely brings it to limelight. Many of the top analysts said that it’s not feasible to make a program understand Javascript and even if it does there is no surety that the program would be executing life long without any malfunctions. But if Googlebot is able to interact with Javascript on itself then the above issue can be solved.
The credit of this upgraded bot goes to Google Caffeine, a new web indexing system launched by Google with the use of which surfing the internet is now faster and much more comprehensive. Will through more light on Google Caffeine in my next article. Thus to cope up with this new web indexing system an upgraded web crawler would definitely be required.
Google users have already started to experience the changes in the search engine results displayed due to this new and improved bot. And now people are eagerly waiting for the next blast from Google and the revolution that it would be bringing.
