Caffeine – New Indexing Algorithm By Google
Say wow to the new web indexing system developed by Google. Finally the Google people announced the completion of the all together new web indexing system, which they call Google Caffeine. With the usage of this caffeine the users and the surfer would now be getting 50% more genuine and fresh results than they used to get with the previous indexing system. No matter to whatever you are looking for either is a forum, blog post or article you can now find much more relevant link and information then you used to get before. Also now you would be able to get the information as soon as it is published on the web. Thus it leads to faster and much more relevant search results display.
Here is a small description of the way Google works, for the ones who are not aware of the process that Google follows. Google crawls the web once every month and stores the information in a properly indexed way. Thus when one types the search query in the Google search bar, then you are generally looking to the information that is indexed by Google. It does not look for in live web. It is basically like the index that you can find in the front pages of book, where you can easily pinpoint to the information that you require.
Thus all was working well, then why did the new indexing system came into existence? The answer is much simpler and all are aware of. The content on the web is growing in form of millions of pages every second. And with the growth of technology the webpage has more information other than just the content. Evolution of images, videos, news and real time updates has made a webpage much more complex and richer in information. And thus due to this the expectation of the searchers has increased a lot. They now look for much more relevant, focused and rich information. Also the publishers of the information have their expectations risen up as they want the information to be indexed and displayed as soon as they post it.
Thus caffeine came as a solution to both the searchers as well as publishers. Have a look the diagram below to well differentiate between the older indexing system and the new Google Caffeine.
Thus as you can see the older indexing system was in form of layers. The top layers or the main layers would be updated at a faster rate than some other layers. May be they get refreshed every couple of weeks as compared to others that get refreshed once a month. To update a layer Google need to surf the entire web, these means there is some delay caused in the time when the information is found by Google and displayed the results to you.
But talking of Caffeine it crawls the web into small portion and updates the index on regular basis. As soon as new content is found on the web for the exiting pages or all together a new page is found, it is added to the index right way without any kind of delay. Thus the users can now have access to fresher information no matter when or where it was published.
Thus in a way we can say Caffeine is built keeping the future of the web in mind. There is no doubt that the web would be loaded with tones of data and information everyday and you need a smarter system that can work more than the expectation. Caffeine is the answer to indexing the tones of information that is posted and going to be posted in near future. With the use of it once can get faster, relevant and richer information even if it is published a just a second ago. Hat’s off to Google for this. Also we surely would be waiting for new improvements by Google on Caffeine in near future.
